2016 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 concept

Suzuki's flagship liter-class machine is least updated motorcycle in market to its segment, thankfully late but not least Suzuki have understood GSX-R1000 is needed complete overhaul.

Two weeks earlier Suzuki have uploaded following video as GSX-R 1000 concept highlighting updated technologies in 2016 GSX-R 1000 machines , although it say it's concept but final version will be most likely same as this.

The video highlights upon many newer things employing in GSX-R1000 but among all VVT tech is said to be vital one , what Suzuki have done is created variable cam timing profile for valve opening and closing optimized for engine response is specific condition, Suzuki have patented this VVT tech so you can understand its not something marketing gimmick rather it could be game changer.

Honda's brand new motorcycle for CB Triggers replacement !

In RevFest Honda have showed series of products one of such product is CB Hornet 160R.
Now the name Hornet invokes big Honda Hornet bikes, it seems like Honda's new strategy to grab piece of pie in premium 150CC segment, Just like Suzuki did with Gixxer. Will it able to achieve it's goal? let's see what CB 160 hornet offering.

CB Hornet is replacement for Honda's recently discontinued CB Trigger, with Trigger Honda hasn't got success dues to its not too sporty nor too commuter look, It was somewhat confuse looking machine.

But Hornet is different, you can look at the bike and you get the feel for power and bikes body language speaks about its sporty character, This time Honda have clear goal with CB Hornet 160R it's premium 150CC machine , the motor is 163 cc similar to CB Unicorn rated at 14.5 bhp of power and 14.61 Nm of torque.

Few of the styling elements makes this bike very soothing to eyes, like the pseudo radiator covers improves looks appeal, while chunky fat exhaust reminds the exhaust can on Pulsar of RS200.
This little Honda Hornet gets 140 Section broad tyre just like Gixxer and FZ series.

Honda's trademark Combi-Brake system is present, along with disc at front and rear too! very well Honda cause most of 150 segment bikes lacks rear disc brake even as an option, So surely Honda CB Hornet 160R have slight edge over competitors like Yamaha's FZ serise or Suzuki's Gixxer.

Another noteworthy thing to mention is how beautifully crafted tail section is, It reminds us about bigger Kawasaki's Z bikes tail section. The psudo carbon fiber finish is first in class and looks apart.

No doubt there are few shortcomings like poor quality switch-gears or absence of engine kill switch but hey who cares after all we all have learn from Honda  "looks good is Good!" relax kidding.

Bottomline:- If Honda put's CB Hornet 160R's price competitive with competitors, surely this little Honda is going to eat significant sale figures of other bikes it segment.

Carbon fiber finish reminding of Diavel

Dumping Triggers switchgear stock?

Is this RS 200? NOO!

Rear disc wow!

No fancy liquid cooling, that's allright

Glimps of upcomming bigger Gixxer bikes

It's not too long before Suzuki was considered as boring motorcycle company in India but that's all changed after Gixxer 150, Something similar strategy Suzuki is trying to apply with it's big worldwide products.
Present GSX-R1000R

Take look at it's present liter class GSX-R1000R it's most aging bike in the segment, definitely there's something radical idea's going ahead inside Suzuki R&D and what you're seeing here in image is believe to be upcoming GSX-R1000R along interestingly brand new GSX-R250R.
Completely new front look

Update regarding GSX-R1000R  was expected as every other literclass product is newer than that.
but We're really excited for smaller GSX-R250R as every other Japanese manufacturer have quarter liter sportbike except Suzuki, Smaller bikes are really important for any bike manufacturing company especially when those smaller bikes get's inspiration from bigger bikes, Smaller bike's makes large volume sales.

We can see here both of these bike's have completely new front fairing somewhat similar to Ducati Panigale inspired from viper, GSX-R1000R will be powered by inline four motor with crossplane crank configuration similar to their GP bike and powered around 200 hp, but at the moment we can't confirm about GSX-R250's powerplant it may single or twin parallel we really don't know.

If these images published by Japanese magazine Young machine are anything but true then Suzuki is surely going to grab lot's of attention just like Yamaha did with 2015 R1 and R1M.

Suzuki India to launch Gixxer SF on 7th April 2015

The Suzuki Gixxer SF , sounds familiar to us since the inception of Suzuki Gixxer last year. The Gixxer was successful product for Suzuki something which Yamaha's FZ series doing from long time, hence Suzuki India decided to brought fully faired  version of Gixxer which will be Gixxer SF according to company. We have shown you couple of spyshots of Gixxer SF in previous posts at here and here.
Gixxer SF looks absolutely fabulous with full fairing front end have soul of big GSX-R class motorcycles and raise rear end is same as of that naked Gixxer. Powered by same 155 cc air cooled engine producing 14.8 bhp and 14 Nm of torque, though bike doesn't have that peak power interface or point and shoot dynamics of R15 but we know for ordinary customers of our country Looks matters much than specifications.
Gixxer SF will be price in between somewhere 80 to 90 thousands , looking in the segment of Gixxer SF , there in no actual competitor which can give such bang for buck and if you're thinking about macho looking Fazer then wait because Fazer is lower on power as well as torque compare to Suzuki's motor, Suzuki India is going to launch Gixxer SF in 7th April 2015 and we know many buyers who wants to purchase their first fully faired bike are desperately waiting for Gixxer SF because Gixxer SF is going to be cheapest fully faired bike in country.

Fully faired Gixxer is not Gixxer SLK but Gixxer SF

As our earlier report we mentioned fully faired Gixxer is Gixxer SLK,but it is GIxxer SF, which get's clear from graphics on side fairing cowl of spyshot, bike is getting same engine as naked Gixxer ,155 CC air cooled single , twin valve motor producing 14.8 bhp and 14 nm of torque, fuelling via same carburetor system unlike FI. Bike is expected to get launch in this year infact we think it'll get launch in next month because spyshot's shows almost production ready motorcycles.

Suzuki Gixxer SF's main rival will be Fazer FI V2.0  even though later benefited from electronic fuel injection system, Gixxer SF have more power and torque advantage plus bike is wearing full fairing unlike semi fairing on Fazer.
White color front end seems somewhat similar to older Karizma ZMR front end

Confusion in naming got created due to one of the spy shot on which Suzuki was written in cross across tank to fairing transition on blue color motorcycle(you can see in previous report).
Gixxer SF will be price 4 to 5 thousand premium over naked Gixxer.

Spyshots of upcoming fully faired Suzuki, Gixxer SLK ? sounds interesting!

Rear end is same as Gixxer which isn't bad either

After huge success with Gixxer, Suzuki seems not in mood to hold back, and currently testing fully faired variant of Gixxers known as Gixxer SLK , We know you already thinking about Yamaha's strategy with FZ and Fazer and you ain't wrong ! But interestingly Suzuki repeated lesson of Yamaha  with slight different fashion, Instead of introducing semi faired variant of same bike, Suzuki stepping one step further to bring fully faired motorcycle, Brave move Suzuki! cause Indian's are always thirsty for fully faired motorcycles.
Looking at first spy picture it's clear that Gixxer SLK retains same tail section as Gixxer. Tail lamp, signals, mudguard, 140 section grippy tire, twin port side slung exhaust with chrome end everything is identical.
Front end is inspired by bigger GSX-R motorcycles
Front fairing is cleverly crafted inspired by big bore GSX-R bike's, with pseudo air scoops somewhat similar to Hysoung GT 250R. with yellowish black strips. what interesting thing we're seeing here is Gixxer's existing headlamp assembled with fairing elements beautifully. Where Yamaha did that with twin headlamps in Fazer, and thus Suzuki have shown fully faired sport bike doesn't needs to have twin lamp setup to look sporty.
Rear brake is drum type, disk should be given at least as an option
Side profile is nothing spacial with front fairing going down till engine bottom. with exception of Panel mounted instrument cluster, everything else remains same, there are yellow color strips to wheels, we believe Gixxer SLK to be powered by same engine as current Gixxer. 154.9 cc air cooled motor with twin valves at overhead camshaft producing 14.8 bhp at 8000 rpm, with same 5 speed gearbox.
Gixxer SLK is expected to launch this year,  SLK will give definitely solid fight to Yamaha's Fazer due to higher power figure and could steal few sale numbers of R15 due to fully faired design.
Late but not least we're happy for Suzuki with their decision to bring some handsome looking bike's in India.

Force Induction Suzuki Recursion! Will it reach till Production stage?

News from Japan seems to suggest that Suzuki is making a production version of its Recursion concept. For those who don't know, the Suzuki Recursion Concept was based around a turbocharged 588cc two-cylinder engine.
The idea was to achieve liter-bike power from a middleweight-sized machine, thus offering enthusiasts high-power but nimble machines to ride.
The news that Suzuki is putting the Recursion into production isn’t too far-fetching, though the original source does seem to be the not-always-accurate Japanese publication Young Machine.
We will let you measure out how much faith to give that report, but make no mistake that a new era in motorcycle motor design is upon us.
The Japanese OEMs are looking to forced induction to help make smaller, more efficient, more powerful machines, and bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Kawasaki Ninja H2R show us how serious the Japanese are about bringing these models to reality.
We have already seen forced induction gain a foothold in the four-wheeled space, so it comes as no surprise that the two-wheeled world would follow suit.
That Suzuki would find the courage to produce the Recursion, after seeing Kawasaki’s successful launch of the supercharged H2, is believable as well.
Suzuki Motor company is in desperate need of a model or two that will revitalize interest in the company’s motorcycles — a bike like the Recursion could do just the very thing.

Now Big question buzzing in my mind and probably yours too will manufacturer in India like Bajaj, Hero or even TVS for that matter will do something like this? it could be interesting to build turbocharged bike of 100 cc with having power up to 200 -250 cc bike with efficiency same as 100 cc naturally aspirated motor!  Well for now let's wait and watch !
